Bisi Egbeyemi, the deputy governor of Ekiti State, on Sunday, November 10, 2019, slapped Sunday Olasekun, a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, officer attached to State the Government House.
Sources in the government house said the 75 year-old deputy governor, who acted under the influence of alcohol slapped the officer, dragged riffle with the NSCDC officer and at the same time jacked his uniform.
The police attached to the deputy governor, having witnessed the un-rully behaviours of their principal however resulted to placating and pleading with Sunday Olasekun to allow the case settled within the government house and never to allow it get to the media and the public.
A few minutes ago, when Egbeyemi was going to Church, he was said to have stopped at the security gate where the NSCDC officer was, rolled down his vehicle’s window and told him (Olasekun) to see him when he returns from church.
The assaulted Olasekun, who is said to still be in shock as to why a deputy governor, who is above 75 years could be so unruly, was said to have kept mute all through.
