‘Pursue peace, love, and understanding: CAN’s Eid-El-Kabir Message To Nigerians

As Nigerian Muslims join their counterparts all over the world to celebrate Eid-El-Kabir, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has joined their Muslim brothers in celebration, beseeching all Nigerians to uphold peace in all their doing regardless of religious affiliations.

CAN President, pastor Ayo Oritsejafor in a statement on Friday, October 3, 2014 said: “The entire Nigerian Christian community and I wish to felicitate with the leadership of the Muslim community in Nigeria and all faithful on the occasion of the 2014 Eid-el kabir celebrations. Occasions like this call for sober reflection and submission to the will of the almighty in the life of a nation its citizens.”

Oritsejafor used the opportunity to remind all Nigerians of the importance of getting closer to God in a spheres of nationhood, stressing that though the country is going through trying times with insurgency, harsh economic conditions and the recent Ebola scare, the country will survive with the help of God.

“I urge all faithful to use the occasion of the sallah celebrations to pray for our country and its leadership for no amount of prayer can be said to be too much for our nation. I call on Nigerians to remain peaceful, pursue peace, love and understanding  in the quest for a new Nigeria” Oritsejafor stated.

“Once again, I congratulate our Muslim brothers and wish them a happy eid-el Kabir celebrations and may God bless our country Nigeria.” the CAN president said in conclusion.
