Eid-El Fitr: Jigawa Gov’t Lifts Ban On Durbar, Sallah Festivities

Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, the governor of Jigawa State, has lifted the ban on Sallah Dubar and other festivities during Eid-El Fitr in the state.

The governor disclosed this while briefing journalists on  Tuesday, May 4, 2021, shortly after a security meeting held in Government House, Dutse.

He explained that the lifting of the Durbar ban and other festivities followed the successes recorded in the fight against COVID-19 in the state.

Jigawa State government had last year cancelled all Sallah celebrations including durbar to minimize the spread of Coronavirus.

He explained that last year coronavirus situation in the country forced the cancellation of durbars.

The governor said the durbar and other Sallah celebrations will hold this year in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
