The principal witness in the suit by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against Abdul-Aziz Nyako, the son of impeached Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 after suffering a bout of asthma in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
According to Premium Times, the witness, Maadai Dan-Tsoho, who was scheduled to testify against the younger Nyako has been suspended from his bank job.
Dan-Tsoho replaced Borno State Governor, Kashim Shetima as the regional manager of Zenith Bank in the North East. He was also said to hold major stakes at Azman Airlines, Azman Petroleum and owned Dan Tsoho Hotel in the Malamre District in Jimeta, Yola.
The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, when contacted to speak on the death of Dan-Tsoho said he was not aware of the development.
He said: “I don’t have this information right now.”
