The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Monday, January 11, 2015 arrested the Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Emeka Mba, over an alleged N15 billion fraud.
Mba was arrested in Abuja and taken to the EFCC’s headquarters where he is currently being grilled.
According to sources familiar with the case, the EFCC had been investigating the NBC for the past one month. Last week, operatives of the EFCC stormed the headquarters of the NBC, ransacking computers and files in the finance and account unit.
Some key officials of the NBC were arrested in the sting.
There is no word from the EFCC on the arrest of Mba who has not been released by the EFCC as at the time of going to press.
