In continuation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s onslaught on ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s men, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 arrested and grilled Jonathan’s principal secretary, Hassan Tukur.
A source at the EfCC headquarters, told The Nation that Tukur was being investigated by the anti-graft agency at the EFCC headquarters on Tuesday night.
It was learnt that the arrest and interrogation of Tukur is not unconnected with the release of funds from the office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
The EFCC source said the investigation of Tukur is in respect of funds released from the former NSA but not connected with the #DasukiGate, noting that the funds were operational funds.
According to him, “these funds have nothing to do with the procurement of funds but certain operational funds. The ex-principal private secretary had been under investigation in the last few months on the arms cash allegedly disbursed to them for campaign purposes and counter-insurgency initiative with Boko Haram”.
