David Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi State, has directed the immediate relocation of all poultry markets within Abakaliki to a permanent designated site.

This is contained in a statement by Mr Francis Nwaze, Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Publicity, and issued to newsmen on Saturday in Abakaliki.

It said the order was to be carried out within 24 hours.

The permanent site is located opposite the St. Margaret Umahi International Market, Abakaliki.
“Recall that the governor had issued the same directive a year ago, but it was discovered that many of the poultry traders failed to comply.
