The Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 announced that it was currently profiling thugs and questionable characters around the country in a bid to beef up security ahead of the forthcoming general election.
Making this known was, the Spokesperson of the DSS, Marilyn Ogar, who spoke at a press conference organised by the national Information Center in Abuja, stating that the profiled individuals will be apprehended before the commencement of the polls.
She said: “There is profiling of those whose presence in certain areas cannot be easily and immediately be explained. We profile all people with questionable character and before the election, they are taken in.”
She also commented on the violence which was witness at an All Progressives Congress campaign rally, stating that: “We are investigating. So, whatever happened will not go uncovered. Once you observe a new face, unexplained movement of people you do not know or sudden business concern cropping up around you, alert the security agencies.”
