The Department of State Services, DSS, had on Friday, September 20, 2019, charged Sowore on seven counts bordering on conspiracy to commit treason, cyberstalking President Muhammadu Buhari, and also insulting him in a television interview.
Omoyele Sowore, a pro-democracy campaigner and convener of RevolutionNow movement, will be arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, SaharaReporters can confirm.
Sowore was arrested in Lagos on August 3, 2019, for planning a series of peaceful protests against bad governance in Nigeria.
Despite calls for his release, the government has continued to hold on to him, violating his fundamental human rights in the process.
