NAFDAC Confiscates Drugs Worth N3 Million In Jigawa

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Thursday, July 8, 2015 announced it has confiscated fake drugs and food item worth over N3.28 million.

The Director of the Agency in Jigawa state , Mr. Olakunle Olaniran, told News Agency of Nigeria that the items were confiscated in Dutse and other major towns in the state in the last three years.

The director said items confiscated include sugar, spaghetti and vegetable oil.

Others items that were confiscated are; oxytocin injections, gentamacin injections, sudrex tablets and augmentin syrup.

He said the items were all adulterated and that the agency in the state was waiting for an approval from the national headquarters for the items to be destroyed.
