CALABAR – An alleged robber has revealed how he drugs drivers to sleep and makes away with their vehicle before they wake up, Vanguard reports.
The 25-year old suspect, identified as Simon Monday says within the past nine months, he has drugged over ten drivers in Calabar, Cross River state only to sell their cars in Aba, Abia state.
Monday availed that he tricks the drivers by agreeing to rates which are at their (drivers) advantage and starts getting very friendly with them during journeys, offering them drugged fruit juice, after which he drives of with the car to Aba where buyers are awaiting.
The suspect says he does not stay in Calabar, but only goes there to rob unsuspecting drivers.
Monday said: “I operate alone because when the person takes the juice, he immediately sleeps off and I can then drive the car to Aba and hand it over to the buyer before the owner would even wake up.”
