A little child has been crushed to death by a speeding vehicle along Ihiala road, in Uli, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra state.
The accident which occurred on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, involved Toyota Sienna Space Wagon car with registration number LSR 748 GN.
The Nation gathered that the victim was crossing the road when he was knocked down by the car.
Similarly, seven persons have seriously injured in another accident along Awka- Enugu road involving Toyota Space Wagon Privia and a Nissan Altima car.
Eyewitnesses blamed the crash involving fifteen persons on brake failure.
Andrew Kumapayi, the state sector commander Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, confirmed both incidents.
He said the child’s corpse has been deposited at the mortuary after being confirmed dead by the doctor.
“The seven persons, consisting of five male adults and four female adults who sustained varying degrees of injury were taken to the hospitals by FRSC rescue team from Awka Sector Command.
While sending his condolences to the deceased family, as well as wishing the injured accelerated recovery, Kumapayi warned motorist to avoid speeding especially in built up areas.
He admonished motorist to use common sense speed limit and to ensure constant maintenance of their vehicles to prevent road traffic crashes which is avoidable.
