The was mild drama in Abuja on Thursday, January 15, 2015 during the Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance celebration when a soldier who was part of the firing ceremony suffered a wardrobe malfunction, which made him lower his rifle, which had gotten stuck.
The action of the guard prompted two members of the elite Presidential Guard, standing behind President Jonathan’s Aide-de-Camp to form a human shield as the doubted the intention of the shifty soldier.
Another officer, suspected to be a member of the Presidential Guard, stepped in quickly to help the troubled soldier, assisting him to untangle the rope and free the soldier from his troubles.
President Jonathan seemed untroubled throughout the whole debacle, as bullets usually fired at such events are usually blanks.
