Raymond Dokpesi, the chairman of Daar Communications and a member of Nigeria’s opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, will officially flag-off his campaign for the party chairmanship on Sunday, July 24, 2016, his campaign organisation has confirmed through a statement.
The media mogul will seek the blessing of his royal father, the Okumagbe of Weppa, Wanno Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, George Eghabor, before embarking on his campaign tour.
The PDP has zoned its chairmanship position to the South and elections are expected to hold on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the party’s national convention in Port Harcourt, River State.
The Dokpesi campaign office said that the purpose of the tour is to personally meet with, and listen to and address all the delegates of the party who shall be voting at the convention.
“High Chief Dokpesi as a point of principle believes that it is only through consultations with all stakeholders and delegates of the party that a national leader who will understand and appreciate the pains and yearnings of the party members across the nation can emerge,” the statement said.
