Dog Bites 55-Year-Old Woman To Death In Ondo

A dog has bitten a 55- year-old woman, to death in Idanre, in the Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The victim, identified as Florence Aladenoye, was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, after the incident but unfortunately, she didn’t survive.

Confirming the incident, the Police spokesperson in the state, Mr Wole Ogodo, stated that Aladenoye was taken to five different hospitals before she passed away.

According to Ogodo, the owner of the killer dog, Mr. Olofingbasote Afolabi, had been arrested and detained at the State Department of Criminal Investigation.

He said, “The matter was reported to Afolabi, the owner for the dog, but he did not take any action to treat the victim. So the victim was taken to five different hospitals before she died at the FMC.”

The police have launched an investigation into the matter while the victim’s remains had been deposited at a morgue.

The police spokesperson advised dog owners in the state to ensure their dogs and other domestic animals were properly kept and immunised.
