Djokovic Defeats Nadal To Win China Open

Must read

World number one tennis player, Novak Djokovic won the China open for the sixth time after he beat rival, Rafael Nadal at the National Tennis Centre in Beijing on Sunday, October 11, 2015.

In recent times, the Serbian has dominated the Spaniard who suffered a foot injury in the second set. Speaking after his victory, 28-year-old Djokovic said:

“Beijing has definitely been the most successful tournament so far in my career”.

“The fans give me reason to come back every year.”

He also noted that beating 29-year-old Nadal was not an easy job:

“The scoreline, especially in the first set, doesn’t indicate the real battle that we had on the court,” Djokovic said.

“I’m aware of the fact that very few points can decide a winner of the matches I play against the biggest rivals, and Rafa is definitely one of them.

“He’s the kind of player that is a champion and understands the kind of challenge that a big match presents, and he knows how to play on the big stage for the titles. He has won so many.”

Djokovic’s 6-2 6-2 victory means he has now come out victorious ahead of Nadal in seven of their last eight meetings which dates back to the 2013 China Open.
