EKITI – Ado Ekiti Customary Court heard the case of a housewife named Busayo Ogunjobi, who wants her 13-year marriage to Ayodele Ogunjobi dissolved on the grounds of infidelity and domestic violence, according to reports.
26-year-old Mrs Ogunjobi told the court, presided over by Mr Joseph Ogunsimi, that her husband had long abandoned her and her child, and didn’t care about their welfare. She said he doesn’t accept their only child as his. According to her, Mr Ogunjobi abandoned them since the child was three months old.
On infidelity, she said there was no stopping Mr Ogunjobi, that he brings different women home and when he does he would ask her to sleep on the mat.
“My lord, anytime my husband brought home a woman, he would ask me to sleep on the mat so that the woman can sleep on our matrimonial bed,’’ she said.
Mr Ogunjobi, 32, denied allegations of domestic violence. He however told the court he did not believe the said child was his. He said the reason he does not provide for both mother and child is because he did some private investigations and the findings didn’t favour Mrs Ogunjobi.
The case has been adjourned till February 11 for further hearing.
