Shortly after swearing his oath of office at the Eagles Square, Abuja, President Muhammdu Buhari on Friday, May 29, 2015 played host to several guests, including Heads of States, Ambassadors and other dignitaries at the new banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, where an inauguration gala was held.
But the new President took many aback when mid-way into the event, he excused himself so as to attend the Friday Jumat prayer at the National Mosque, while his guests were still having lunch.
The guests, which included Presidents of South Africa, Liberia, Zimbabwe and Guinea, among others were taken aback when President Buhari failed to return after considerable time had elapsed.
In his absence, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo stepped in to make remarks in his place. He apologised to the guests and thanked the leaders for gracing the inauguration.
