Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West district, says he has regained freedom after he was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified persons.
“Senator Melaye, who announced this via his Twitter handle on Friday, July 27, 2018, said he was held captive for 11 hours by his purported abductors,” Channels TV reported.

It quoted the controversial federal lawmaker as saying that he was able to escape “another dangerous attack” through the prayers of his supporters across the country.
The Abduction
Dino Melaye, the controversial senator representing Kogi West district in the National Assembly, has been reportedly abducted by armed men in Gwagwalada area of Abuja.
This event is said to have occurred on Thursday, July 26, 2018 on his way to Lokoja to make an appearance on court in his criminal conspiracy trial.
According to an eye-witness who spoke to Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, the armed thugs were driving in a government Hilux van and a Sienna bus.
Senator Murray-Bruce has tweeted about the incident.
I have just been informed by Moses Melaye, @dino_melaye’s brother, that Dino has been abducted by unknown persons in a Toyota Sienna that blocked their car and overpowered them on their way to Kogi to answer to Dino’s court case. Lets be on the watch out. Will keep you updated.
