Earlier in September 2015, reports had it that the National Centre for Women Development (NCWD), under the leadership of Onyeka Onwenu, a veteran musician and broadcaster, had unveiled plans to organize vocational training and award scholarships for internally displaced persons (IDP).
It appears the NCWD is making good with its promises as the the Director-General of the centre, Onyeka Onwenu paid a visit to IDPs camp in Damare Yola on Tuesday, September, 29 2015. The legendary Nigerian musician and actress was in company of the Director Relief and Rehabilitation of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Ezeh Udemezue and Country Representative of the UNHCR, Ms Angele Dikongue-Atangana.
Onyeka Onwenu presented some relief materials to the Internally Displaced Persons and also had an interaction with them.
The team also paid a visit to the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Mr Martins Babale.
