Desmond Elliot, a Lagos State lawmaker, has rented and furnished a room for a homeless woman in Lagos.
The 42-year-old Nollywood actor and director took to his Instagram page to share the story of how he re-established a borehole a few months back, and discovered a homeless woman who had been living at the spot he planned to set up the borehole.
According to Desmond Elliot, the woman washes people’s clothes for a living and has even bought a generator to make the borehole function properly.
Elliot decided to surprise the unnamed woman with a furnished room. He politician shared the photos on Instagram with the caption:
“So I rehabilitated this borehole a few months ago, and the woman in this picture, apparently is homeless and lives there at that spot, she bought a generator to power the borehole (she washes clothes for a living).
“Boy was I impressed so I decided to give her a little surprise. She got a clean, fresh, room apartment with a television, GoTv, fan, mattress, and chair … a place to retire to after a day’s work. Congrats to her.”
