Christian Eriksen, the danish midfielder went down in an off-the-ball incident at the end of the first-half with physios immediately entering the field to treat the current Inter Milan maestro.
Eriksen was seen lying on the floor in a distressed state with referee Anthony Taylor appearing to stop play so that he could receive emergency CPR.
The Danish players looked in tears when huddled around their star man as he was being resuscitated.
The game was being shown live on BBC One but the TV cameras cut back to the studio when it was clear not all was well.
A curtain had been put up around Eriksen while the paramedics treated him on the pitch.
