The crisis involving Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki took another dimension on Saturday, September 19, 2015 as user’s of social media platform, Twitter, expressed shock over the removal of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from his official handle.
Saraki’s handle previously had “Member of the APC” attached to it but it currently reads “Senate President and Chairman of the 8th National Assembly. Committed to Transparency and Accountability.”
The removal of APC from his bio brought about several comments as Nigerians thronged his page to find put if he has decamped from the ruling party.
One user, Omooba Adeyemi with the handle @prinxadeyemi, tweeted at Saraki demanding to know if he has officially left the APC to rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Reacting to the tweet, Saraki responded by saying he is still a card-carrying member of the APC, although he is ‘ honoured to serve as Senate President of all Senators.’

Also reacting to the development, Saraki’s Special Adviser on Media Yusuph Olaniyonu, said: “It is not a new development. The party logo was there during the elections and we took it off after the elections about a month ago.”
Already, rumours of Saraki rejoining the PDP are already rife as a top politician disclosed that as at 8:45 pm on Saturday, September 19, 2015, Saraki led a delegation of 14 APC senators, including staunch loyalist and Head of the Senate Committee on Media, Dino Melaye, to a round table meeting with the leadership of the PDP.
The information is yet to be independently confirmed.
