We all like to believe that when we’re away from home and staying at a hotel, our luggage and personal possessions are safe from prying hands when cleaners enter the room.
However, a new video has tested this theory by placing a covert camera in a hotel room to see what really happens when cleaners go about sprucing up our temporary abodes.
The resulting footage, shot at an unnamed US hotel, shows curiosity getting the better of one cleaner as she examines the belongings of the video’s creator.
She is initially seen checking out a PlayStation 3 console and a personal tablet before making her way onto a laptop left in the room.
After she’s done surveying the technology on offer, the cleaner proceeds to rifle through the hotel resident’s luggage.
It’s worth noting though, that while it might not be acceptable to go through someone’s personal belongings, no evidence of theft or damage is documented in the video.
Some YouTube commenters were quick to decry the woman’s actions, but we’re more inclined to agree with the person who pointed out a much bigger issue:
‘She cleaned the toilet and then touched your pillows and sheets with the same gloves. That’s more disturbing than her trying to get into the laptop.’
