The Nigerian Senate on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 received at least 10 petitions from individuals and groups against some of the ministerial nominees to be screened.
Punch reports that the no fewer than 9 petitions were received through the Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Petitions, while the a petition against former Rivers State Governor was submitted on the floor of the Senate.
A source who spoke anonymously availed thus: “I don’t really know the accurate number of petitions we have received so far, I am not in the office at the moment but they should be up to 10.”
When approached on the matter, the Chairman of the committee, Senator Sanuel Anyanwu said: “I will speak with you later please, I am sorry.”
