Hot on the heels of the September 18 London premiere of Captive produced by British-Nigerian actor, David Oyelowo, the film premieres in Lagos courtesy of Pastor Paul Adefarasin.
The Lagos premiere of Captive, holds at The Rock Cathedral, the home of House On The Rock Church at Lekki on Independence Day, October 1, 2015 by 6 pm.
Captive is a faith-based drama produced by Paramount starring Oyelowo as Brian Nichols, a young man who escapes from the Fulton County courthouse in Atlanta after being sentenced to time in prison for rape. Directed by filmmaker, Jerry Jameson, Captive is based on a true story.
While making his escape from the courthouse, Nichols murders the presiding judge and three other people, sparking a massive manhunt by the authorities.
Desperately in search of refuge, Brian Nichols kidnaps Ashley Smith, played by his co-star, Kate Mara, a troubled young single mother, and forces her to shelter him. A recovering meth-addict, Smith forms a connection with her captor with the help of a Christian book, The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren.
The cast of the film, which is also produced by Oyewole includes, Leonor Varela, Jessica Oyelowo, Mimi Rogers, and Michael K. Williams.
