Daily Meditations: You May Be Broke But You Are Not Poor!

Must read

A lot of people are broke but think they are poor so they act poor and eventually become poor.

There will be times in your life when the all seeing God will temporarily deprive you of finances because He knows that if you have it at that point, you will make a purchase or enter an agreement that will ruin you and spoil His long term plan for your life.

Wisdom is the ability to discern differences.

If you are not able to discern and distinguish when you are broke from when you are poor, you will mistake one for the other.

In Genesis 26:1 we read, “There was a famine in the land–besides the previous famine in Abraham’s time – and Isaac went to Abimelek king of the Philistines in Gerar.”

During this time, Isaac was broke, but he was not poor. In verses 12 & 13 we read, “Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him. The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy”.

The reason God allowed Isaac to be broke was so that he could move to Gerar where God had a plan to make Him rich. If Isaac had not moved to Gerar he would not have attained the level of wealth he achieved. It is not possible to serve Jehovah and be poor.

However, it is possible to serve Him and be broke. Being broke is temporary. Poverty is longer lasting and sometimes permanent. So come out of that poverty mentality.

You are only going through a season and a short one at that. You are not going through a life time of lack!
