When we make money the sole driver of your life choices you are more vulnerable to economic recession because the governments of The West believe in God more than we think and they know that these times of recession must come. Every generation will face at least one. Abraham faced one in Genesis 12. His son, Isaac, faced one in Genesis 26. His grandson, Jacob, faced on in Genesis 43. It is not a matter of if such times will come. It is a matter of when such times will come. It is not a curse, it is a reality of living in a fallen world. Western government prepare for them in such a way that they ultimately will suck from us what we thought we had gained from them.
However, if our life and career choices are driven by purpose that comes from the reflection that can only come from numbering our days, we are more likely to make choices that align with the core values that God and His Son Jesus prescribed in The Bible, namely, love God and love your neighbour, rather than love money and love it more than your neighbour.
Research shows that businesses and professions that focus your skills on caring for the tender needs of others not only bring more happiness, but are actually termed as recession proof. You see, love your neighbour, is more profitable than love money and love it more than your neighbour.
