“Random Access Memories” by Daft Punk won album of the year, beating out Sara Bareilles’ “The Blessed Unrest,” Daft Punk “Random Access Memories,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City,” Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “The Heist” and Taylor Swift’s “Red.”
Daft Punk was also nominated in five other categories, including Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. The group also took home awards for Record Of The Year, Best Dance/Electronica Album as well as Best Engineered Album in addition to Album Of The Year. Dressed as friendly-looking storm troopers, the duo accepted each award in silence.

In the past, Daft Punk has won both Best Dance Recording (2008) and Best Electronic / Dance Album (2007).
The 56th annual Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles on Jan. 26 at a ceremony hosted by LL Cool J.
