Former CSI star Gary Dourdan finds himself in legal troubles after he failed to make a court appearance scheduled for this week. The judge didn’t like it and decided to issue a bench warrant for his arrest.
Dourdan, 47, was supposed to make the appearance in line with the terms of his five-year probation that had set scheduled progress hearings. He had been sentenced in November of 2012 after he was found guilty of breaking the nose of his ex, Nicole Vail Cannizzaro, in an incident that took place in his Venice home in 2011.
The judge presiding over the case at the time found Dourdan guilty of felony battery and issued a three-year restraining order to keep him away from Cannizzaro.
Dourdan has been facing charges left and right over the span of the past half a decade or so. In 2008, he was arrested and pled guilty to possession of cocaine and ecstasy in Palm Springs. In 2011, he was also arrested for Oxycontin possession after he had crashed his vehicle into two parked cars.
The news came as a surprise as Dourdan has been keeping a low profile and has managed to fly under radar for quite some time now. The last time a photograph was taken of him was when he attended the 67th Cannes Film Festival in May of this year. His last tweet was when he shared a picture, that same night, as he partied with Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion). He had captioned it “Free lions”.
Although the SAG Award winning actor is best known for his nine seasons on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” where he played a gambling addicted Las Vegas criminalist, he has done some work on other movies and shows like “Alien: Resurrection” and more recently in an episode of “Glee” entitled “The Back-Up Plan“.
Dourdan is the father of two children Lyric and Nyla from ex-girlfriends Cynthia Hadden and Jennifer Sutton.
