The former SSG, Simon Imuekemhe, former Chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board, Joseph Emoabino, the former secretary, David Igbiniba and Director of Finance and Accounts, Aghator Efe were arraigned in court on an eight count charge of corrupt practices and other related offences, contrary to section 22 (5) of the EFCC Act 2000.

Counsel to the defendant prayed the judge to uphold the administrative bail granted by the EFCC to the defendant. However, the prosecuting counsel, Larry Peter Aso, asked the court, if it decides to grant bail, to stipulate the conditions of the bail as all previous arrangements had elapsed.

The trial judge, Razaq Isenalume ordered that all accused persons be remanded in prison pending the hearing of bail application and adjourned the case to March 14, 2014.
