Following the ruling delivered this morning, October 8,2014, the Federal High Court has ordered that Ahmadu Fintiri, be removed as and as ordered the State’s Chief Judge, immediately swear in the Former Deputy Governor, Bala Ngilari, back to perform in the capacity of acting governor.
Justice Adeniyi Ademola, declared Fintiri’s occupation of the Governor’s office as unconstitutional and illegal, therefore ordering his immediate vacation from the office.
The Judge also ordered that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC should suspend every activity that has to do with Bye-Election which was initially scheduled to hold on 11 October, 2014
Recall that Fintiri was sworn-in as the de-facto Governor of the state, following the decision of the house of assembly to impeach the state governor, Murtala Nyako, on allegations of gross financial misconduct.
The deputy, Ngilari on the other hand was said to have resigned from office on political ground to save himself from impeachment.
