Country Legend Garth Brooks Faces Sexual Assault Allegations in Lawsuit by Former Employee

Must read

LOS ANGELES, USA – Country music superstar Garth Brooks is facing serious allegations of sexual assault and battery after a former hairstylist and makeup artist, identified as “Jane Roe,” filed a lawsuit in California state court on October 3.

The lawsuit accuses Brooks of multiple incidents of sexual misconduct, including rape, indecent exposure, and inappropriate comments, all of which allegedly occurred in 2019.

The complaint details how Roe began working for Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood, in 1999 and later was hired by Brooks himself in 2017.

According to the documents, Brooks became aware of Roe’s financial difficulties in 2019 and increased her workload, leading to more frequent contact between the two.

It was during this period that Roe alleges Brooks used his position to subject her to sexual misconduct.

Disturbing Allegations

Roe claims the harassment began in 2019 when Brooks allegedly exited a shower “naked, with an erection” and placed her hands on his genitals, demanding oral sex. Though Roe did not comply, she claims she stayed to complete her work.

The lawsuit also describes an incident prior to a May 2019 taping of a Grammy tribute in which Brooks allegedly exposed himself to Roe in a hotel room after booking a one-bedroom suite for them to share.

Roe further alleges that Brooks raped her in the hotel suite, stating she “could not escape his physical domination” due to their significant size difference.

“The experience was painful and traumatic,” the documents read.

Despite the alleged assault, Roe claims she was forced to continue styling Brooks’ hair and makeup to ensure he made it to the event on time.

Following the alleged rape, Roe claims Brooks escalated his inappropriate behaviour, making sexual comments and groping her while she worked.

The lawsuit also accuses Brooks of making lewd remarks about past sexual encounters and proposing a threesome with his wife, Trisha Yearwood.

Roe believes Yearwood overheard at least one of these comments.

Response from Brooks and Legal Action

A representative and lawyer for Brooks have not responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

However, the lawsuit notes that Brooks preemptively filed a separate lawsuit as “John Doe” on September 13, accusing Roe of extortion and attempting to destroy his reputation.

In the John Doe complaint, Brooks’ legal team claimed Roe’s allegations were false and threatened to damage his career and personal life. “[Roe’s] allegations are not true,” the complaint reads.

“She is well aware of the substantial, irreparable damage such false allegations would do to [Brooks’s] well-earned reputation as a decent and caring person.”

In her lawsuit, Roe claims she stopped working for Brooks in May 2021 and moved to Mississippi.

She also alleges that during a 2020 encounter, Brooks took her phone and deleted text messages containing explicit sexual content that he had sent to her.

Brooks and Yearwood have not yet commented publicly on the lawsuit.
