Coronavirus Fears: Manchester United Drop Odion Ighalo From Spain Trip

Must read

Odion Ighalo, will not travel to Manchester United’s training camp in Spain as it is not guaranteed he would clear UK immigration on his return should border restrictions tighten on travellers who have been in China within past 14 days following the coronavirus outbreak.

Ighalo, who moved to Old Trafford from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua on Deadline Day, will stay in Manchester on a personal training and fitness programme to be ready to join in team training sessions when squad return, Skysports reports.

“This is simply a precautionary measure as the situation continues to be monitored,” a club statement read on Saturday, February 8, 2020.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer added: “Because of the situation in China, we’re not sure if he would be allowed back into England if he leaves the country again, so he’s staying here working with a personal coach, individual programme and his family then can settle in England.”
