The Managing Director of Hope Medical Centre Benin City, Dr. John Abode, who was found dead in his wardrobe last Tuesday, is reported to have committed suicide,
A security source said the deceased have on several occasions attempted suicide, but was stopped by his wife, injected himself with an unknown substance before hanging himself in his wardrobe.
The Vanguard gathered on the day of the sad occurrence, the wife, at a church called their 10-year-old son to inform the father that she wanted to speak with him.
The source said; “It was at that point that the boy searched the house and discovered the deceased body in the wardrobe.”
It was learned that the deceased’s wife rushed down to their residence and it was in an attempt to see if she could revive the husband that she moved the body out of the wardrobe.
The source added that the wife had informed the deceased’s family of the repeated occurrence of suicide attempt by their son, which resulted in the deep involvement in church activities by the widow to assist her husband in prayers.
The deceased’s family is, however, suspecting foul play. The autopsy results indicates that the deceased died as a result of cessation, mostly caused by suicide.
However, the family of the deceased called for another autopsy which is being conducted in Lagos.
