Daniel Nartey, a 25 year old male hawker from Ghana has taken the peripatetic business of selling watermelons, several notches higher by hawking while dressed in suit, knotted tie and hammer headed shoes.
This is really a classy way of projecting the aphorism that their is dignity in labour.
Amazingly the trick of seeing a hawker in suit has paid of well as people patronize him and he sells off his watermelons making 100 percent profit each day before he goes home.
While speaking with BBC Daniel said: “I make 100% profit. I think it is because of how I dress, people notice me easily and want to buy from me.
“My Pastor always says dress well no matter the job you do, so I decided to wear a suit. Some laugh at me, others encourage me and are willing to help me.”
Mr Nartey is a primary school teacher.
He sells watermelons during weekends and when the school is on vacation.
He mentioned that he is saving up to buy an oven and hopes to one day own his own snack bar.
