No fewer than 30 people living at Jinshicum village in the Hunan’s Xiangtan province of China have resorted to a crappy way to cure and prevent cancer cum other diseases by drinking a mixture of mashed cow dung and goat excreta.
Want China Times reported on Saturday, November 1, 2014, that despite all the doctors who have refuted the feces’ medical effects, the residents collected fresh goat or cow feces daily, dried them under the sun before grinding them into powder and drinking it with water.

It was learnt that the preventive measures was started by a 66-year-old woman identified as Ma Shuang who was diagnosed of cancer but claimed to have been cured after her son mashed cow and goat dungs for her to drink.
She said, “I was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer last January and despite going in and out of the hospital nothing was helping.
“And then I had a dream where a voice was telling me to mix the dung of a cow with the droppings of goats. When I woke, I instructed my son on what he had to do and although clearly thinking I had lost my mind, he went and did it anyway.”
This preventive measures had irked many Chinese who took up to the internet media to criticise the citizens for the level of ignorance they have displayed by such absurd act.
One said, “Such heart wrenching news. “I cannot believe that people in the 21st century and in a country that is the world’s second largest economy by GDP, people still treat cancer like this. Who would eat that if one had the money?”
Another ridiculously said, “the treatment will shut down all tumor hospitals in Beijing.”
Liu Shaogui, a doctor at the No.1 Affiliated Hospital to the Hunan University of Chinese Medicine, explained that consuming cow and goat dung is prescribed in ancient Chinese medical texts as a way to “flush out heat and toxins.”
“There is no clinical research backing the villagers’ cancer-curing claims,’ Shaogui explained.
