“My God will cast them away, because they did not obey Him; and they shall be wanderers among the nations.” Hosea 9:17 NKJV
In Ephesians 2:1-2, the Scripture reveals that when we were sinners we were sons of disobedience. It was our habit to disobey the word of God, the nature that was in us caused us to walk in disobedience. Until we received a new nature, we couldn’t but walk in disobedience.
Now, 1 Peter 1:14 AMP says, “[Live] as children of obedience [to God]; do not conform yourselves to the evil desires [that governed you] in your former ignorance [when you did not know the requirements of the Gospel].”
Here’s the difference: When we were sinners we disobeyed God because of the nature in us, but now that we are saved and delivered, disobedience is a choice. But here’s one truth: every disobedience has consequences, especially when we make it a habit. Brothers and sisters, God is merciful and gracious but we cannot continue to take the grace of God for granted. Let us live as children of obedience that we are.
Prophetic Declaration
I am an obedient child of God and I do only the things that are pleasing to Him. I refuse to take the grace of God for granted, neither will I conform to the desires of my flesh. From today I am willing and obedient and I shall eat the good of the land. Amen.
