David said, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear.” (Psalm 66:18) God’s Word translation says, “If I had thought about doing anything sinful, the Lord would not have listened ⌊to me⌋.” And NET Bible says, “If I had harbored sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.”
The reason why a lot of people will miss heaven is because of sin in the heart; because most people are not conscious of this: to them, they have not sinned because they have not committed the act, not realizing that they sinned the moment they started thinking about it.
This is not to scare us; because sin has no dominion over us! Hallelujah! But you’ve got to guard your heart for out of it flows the issues of life. You’ve got to be mindful, always, of the things that go in and come out of your heart. Keep yourself unspotted from this world (James 1:27). God’s grace is abundant for us all. Amen.
