A guy looking for a job met me after service; he graduated some years ago and isn’t doing any reasonable job. I asked him what he wanted me to do for him; prayers or to help him get a job. He wasn’t sure, he said I should help him whichever way I could. I said, okay, where have you applied to? He hadn’t applied to any company! And he wants a job!
It’s funny but the truth is that a lot of us are like the young man. We have desires but we do not talk to God about them. We expect God to know our hearts’ desires and do something about them: yes He knows; but the Bible says that He knows even before we ask. In other words, even though He knows our desires, we’ve still got to ask Him!
In Mark 11:24, Jesus said, “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray…” That’s exactly what you’ve got to do; convert your desires to prayers! You ask God through prayer for your specific desires, and then believe that you have received them; then as Jesus said, you will have them. Your desires will be granted in Jesus name. Amen.
