Bayern Leverkusen striker, Javier Hernandez known to many as Chicharito has been a wonder in the Bundesliga this season after joining in from Manchester United for £7million in the summer.
According to the 27-year-old, confidence does not come by scoring goals but simply by playing consistently. In his first 21 games for Leverkusen, Chicharito has found the back of the net a massive 20 times.
Speaking to Orlando Sentinel, the Mexican who was told by Louis Van Gaal that he was no longer needed at Old Trafford had this to say:
“What I was missing in the last two or three years, it was like I was playing sometimes and then returning to the bench.
“But now that I am playing most of the game or almost all of my games here in my club, that’s what I need.
“Because people sometimes think the confidence is with goals, but I don’t think like that. I think confidence is to play day-by-day, to get rhythm.”
