I stumbled on this interview featuring a South Africa-based designer and what caught my attention was her strikingly chic bags.
Launched early this year, the Nicole Hayley brand aims “to produce designers bags with all elements sourced and manufactured in Africa.” As regards what inspires her label/new Collection, the Zimbabwean-born designer states that,
“The label has been inspired by my African heritage and by the richness of African art, each collection will showcase fabric designs particular to a certain region. The first collection has been inspired by the region in which I was born, Matabeleland in Zimbabwe. Matabeleland is home to the Ndebele people, their mural art inspired the fabric for the Matabele Collection.”
I really love the design aesthetics and the quality of these bags. They (clutch purses) could be styled with an evening And judging from her focus, Nicole Hayley is one brand to watch in the coming year! Read the full Interview here.
