#Certificate: Farmer Files Suit To Stop General Buhari From Contesting Presidential Elections

The All Progressive Congress (APC), Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari has been dragged to a Federal High Court in Abuja by a farmer.

The farmer who hails from Abia State, Mr. Sergin Onuka Ibe‎ approached the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, begging it not to permit Buhari, to participate in the March 28 presidential election on the platform of APC.

Ibe, through his legal advicer Mr. U.O. Ukairo,‎ asked for the court to summon its unique powers and ask ‎Buhari to withdraw from the presidential race, as well as quit parading himself as a real possibility for the Presidential position.

The plaintiff insisted that the first respondent (Buhari), is not legitimately fit to contest as President in view of the suspension of a perjury charge against him.

He also stated that Buhari damaged the procurement of section 31 of the Electoral Act by providing false information while on oath about his educational qualification.

According to Vanguard, Ibe told the court that a personal investigation he conducted revealed that Buhari lacks the basic educational qualifications, adding that the information the 1st defendant supplied to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in his Form CF001, were false.

Meanwhile, Justice Ademola Adeniyi has directed the court to investigate Buhari at his official residence at 4A and B Sultan Lane, Off Sultan Road in Kaduna.

‎The Judge said the defendant could as well serve the Originating Summons on the 1st defendant through any means, while; publishing same in any national daily.

The case was adjourned to March 26 for further hearing.
