CAF Sanctions Onazi With A Two-Match Ban Over Misconduct

Ogenyi Onazi, Super Eagles’ midfielder has bagged a two match ban given by the Confederation of African Football over his sending off in Sunday, June 14, 2015 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad.

The SS Lazio of Italy player was given a red card for retaliation after the referee, a Nigerien named Ibrahim Mamane awarded a penalty kick to Nigeria for a foul on striker Odion Ighalo.

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF received the news of the ban through a circular  sent to it from the CAF Secretariat.

Onazi was banned for two matched for his misconduct for which his was given a red card for.

Nigeria on Saturday, September 5, 2015 is to visit Tanzania in Dar es Salam for a Match Day 2 of the qualifiers, and will then host Egypt on Friday, March 25, 2016.
