Africa’s football governing body, The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has fined the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for not being able to control their fans during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna in June.
According to a statement released on Wednesday, September 30, 3015 by the disciplinary body of CAF which sat on September 20 2015, the NFF has been fined $5,000 for the offence.
The Eagles eventually won the game 2-0 but fans rushed onto the pitch of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna after the Nigerian team scored their second goal in the game.
The Democratic Republic of Congo were also find the same amount for pitch invasion during their AFCON qualifier against Madagascar.
