Obanikoro made the assertion at a rally organised under the auspice of Goodluck Sambo Independent Campaign Group in Lagos, stating that Buhari is not fit to be elected as president as atrocities committed by him in the past must come back to haunt him
The former Ambassador of Nigeria to Ghana said: “We cannot continue to judge Buhari based on what we think he will do in future. He should be judged by what he did as a former head of state.
“His assault on Pa Awolowo, Late Bola Ige, Former Gov Lateef Jakande among others cannot be forgotten.
“The worst crime was his stopping of the Lagos Metro line which would have put Lagos state on a pedestal of sorts.”
Speaking on the current certificate scandal involving Buhari, the former Local Government Chairman of Lagos Island said the APC as trying its best to patch up a sorry case but would fail in that regard.
He also praised President Jonathan for encouraging freedom on speech and entrenching true democracy, as well as the gains made in the agricultural sector.
“Jonathan has made Nigeria his constituency and has never discriminated against any tribe” he said.
The former Senator also used the opportunity to canvas support for the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate, Jimi Agbaje as well as President Goodluck Jonathan and his running mate, Vice President Namadi Sambo.
He stated thus: “PDP remains the party to beat in this election and we are sure of victory.”
