An intense online debate began when a picture of General Buhari which was posted on Twitter by an apparent pro-Buhari sympathiser and allegedly taken on Thursday, February 19, 2015 upon his arrival in the UK.

The online debate took another turn when a story by evening tabloid, PM News claimed that GeneralBuhari had made a detour to Paris, France to hold a meeting with unnamed cronies of President Goodluck Jonathan who “who are seeking reassurance that they won’t be jailed by a Buhari presidency.”
A Nigerian Twitter user resident in the UK, @MrAyeDee later tweeted that the former military Head of State was actually at a The Hayley Street Clinic in London, further giving credence to the fact that General Buhari was in the UK for medical reasons.
