The All Progressive Congress, APC, General Mohammadu Buhari (Rtd), has been said to be working towards the destruction of the Nigerian Constitution in his bid to protect his supporters who are either accused of corruption or facing corruption charges in various law courts across the nation.
This stance was made by a civic action group that promotes democracy and good governance, known as Move on Nigeria.
The group was reacting to the APC presidential candidate’s declaration in Kaduna that he will not probe corruption cases predating May 2015 if he is elected president.
According to the group, Buhari’s feeble and half measured stance against corruption can only be cheering to the corrupt few but a big worry to impoverished Nigerians who will never get justice, Daily Post reveals.
A statement released by the group’s National Coordinator described Buhari as a man with “an intriguing character and a conflicting personality, according to.”
He said, “On one hand, he reeks of a disciplinarian who brooks no frivolities and is stern to the point of seeming brutish. On the flip side, his relationship with his political friends present a different picture that paradoxically echoes a split persona.
“Nigeria is sick and tired of corrupt individuals and impunity in public places hence what is required is the strengthening of our anti-corruption institutions so that they can do their jobs effectively without any executive interference.”
