Yusuf Buhari, the only son of President Muhammadu Buhari and wife, Aisha, has sustained life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle accident.
This incident occurred in the night of Tuesday, December 26, 2017.
According to Aso Rock sources, Yusuf crashed his power bike in Abuja and was taken to the emergency ward of Cedacrest Hospital in Abuja, the nation’s capital where is he is currently receiving treatment.
Eyewitness accounts say that the president’s son was racing with a friend in Gwarimpa, Abuja when he veered off the road while trying to overtake his friend in the race.
Plans are underway to fly him out of the country for further treatment.
Garba Shehu, one of the president’s spokespersons, confirmed the incident to journalists in a statement.
“He broke a limb and had an injury to the head as a result. He has undergone surgery at a clinic in Abuja. He is in a stable condition,” Shehu told journalists.
““The president and his wife, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, are thankful to Nigerians for the good wishes and prayers for their son,” the brief statement ended.
Mr. Buhari bagged his Master’s Degree in the United Kingdom in July 2016.
