President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reappointment of Prof Adekunle Ajayi as the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti.
Osagie Ehanire, the minister of health, said the President was satisfied with “the performances of Prof Ajayi, which are geared towards strengthening the health system and improving the health service delivery to Nigerians since he was first appointed the CMD of the hospital.”
According to a statement by FETHI Corporate Affairs Head, Francis Bank-Akinnuoye, the minister spoke on Thursday, October 7, 2021, while presenting the letter of renewal of appointment to Ajayi, a professor of medicine
In his reaction, the CMD thanked Buhari and Ehanire “for the renewed confidence in him to continue to serve the country as the Chief executive of FETHI”.
Ajayi also thanked the hospital’s Board of Management and members of staff “for their prayers and support” as he promised to double his efforts in ensuring that Nigerians continued to enjoy good service delivery at the hospital.
Bank-Akinnuoye recalled that under Ajayi, who was first appointed FETHI CMD in December 2017 at a time the hospital was struggling to survive, “the corporate integrity of FETHI is being regained, confidence is being built for workforce and clients and there is the progressive restoration of quality service delivery to Nigerians.”
